IBP Inventory module

Please share your opinion on IBP Inventory module.

I have come across this below note in help document.

Note : Inventory optimization algorithm only support Period between reviews (PBR) inputs greater than or equal to 1.

1. What is PBR ?

    2. How difference is SAP IBP inventory module from SAP EIO/EIS ?

Do we have more factors considered in IBP Inventory module ?

   3. Where do we have detailed documentation on these 3 algorithms ?

   4. How Safety stock planning calculation happens ?  Do we still have all methods used in APO ?

Hey,

To answer your question i have mentioned some detail below. Hope this will be useful.

1. What is PBR ? - A:- It is Period Between review. It is a period until the next review/order.

     2. How difference is SAP IBP inventory module from SAP EIO/EIS ?

        Do we have more factors considered in IBP Inventory module ?

      A:- I think  SAP EIO/EIS  modules or previously smartops is now included in IBP(integrated business planning) and  and with other feature of IBP like S&OP on HANA now EIS/EIO will also be using power of HANA as IBP is also using web UI.

    3. Where do we have detailed documentation on these 3 algorithms ? - A:-The Most helpful documentation i found on these topic are the posts of David Zatz if you search on SNC you will get.

4. How Safety stock planning calculation happens ?  Do we still have all methods used in APO ? A:- Safety stock planning calculation will still be happening in background of the tool with formula mentioned below.

But the tools like EIS/EIO or IBP will use MIPO i.e. Multi echelon approach where it will look on each and every node of supply chain together with considering time variability and other factors.
