SAP ECC MC81 and custom Infostructure

Hi all,

Can some one please advise me on this.

As I understand MC81 is a standard transaction, and currently we use S076 standard info structure. I am coming up with a custom info structure for flexible planning for adding a new Key Figure and macros to operate on the Key figure. My question is how does SAP know to use which info structure to store values when I use MC81 ? I believe MC81 will be used by the business for S076 and also for my custom flexible planning info structure.

My expectation is that what ever the business is doing today must not be affected with my new info structure but I am not able to understand how MC81 tcode plays here.

Any advise will help

Hello

Transaction MC81 was designed specifically to be used with the standard infostructure S076.

If you want to work with a custom infostructure you need to create a planning type for this infostructure on transaction MC8A and use this planning type on to create your plan on transaction MC93.
