Are you comparing the Backup size (which is not the same database size) from DB12 with the Database size in SSMS?

You can get the information about your database size in DBAcockpit. The backup should be something roundly the Total Data Size (MB) - Data Free Space (MB).

Of course you shouldn't be attached to it. If you want to test and ensure your backups are fine, you should restore it to another hardware, perform a DBCC CHECKDB with no_infomsgs,

You can check in the transaction code ST04, first page you can find the Database disk space, find the data & log file size or attach the snapshot
