Hello Everyone,
As you know some versions of SQL Server are going to be soon on extended support period. Assuming the SQL Server license was purchased from SAP. Does anyone know what this means in terms of cost of the support contract with SAP? Is it increased?
According to the MS Support Lifecycle policy, these are limited on extended support period:
I understand SAP would still support its products while running on the extended support period. My question is more on the cost associated with it, if any when the database license was acquired from SAP.
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks,
Noe Hoyos
Hi Noes,
Microsoft has this FAQ about their lifecycle support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/lifepolicy
For SAP products you should refer to the following link: http://support.sap.com/maintenance
What I do know about SQL licenses acquired from SAP, is that this license is runtime and so far I haven't heard about any additional fees for running SQL Server 2005 (currently in extended maintenance). What might cause is that if you're running a SAP product that is in extended maintenance running on SQL Server 2005, but such contractual questions, are better answered by your Account Executive, which has access to SAP contract/legal department.

Luis Darui
