Copy SAP2 Master & Key Figure Data Across Planning Areas

We would to copy data and planning view templates across models.  We created another model as a copy of SAP2, and would like to copy all the data (master data and key figure data) from SAP2 into it, as well as our planning views.

  • Is there a quick way to mass load and download data across the two models?  How about the planning view templates?
  • Will we have to load the key figures separately in an import template? One each for demand plan quantity, finance plan qty/profit, sales, marketing, indirect costs, cost per unit, etc.?
  • If there a link of all the sample data files for SAP2 in a zip file?   We only currently have the SAP4 sample data.

Thank you!

1) quick way: no really. One would be:

    a) Master Data:
log on to the system here you want to copy FROM and open MANAGE --> MASS -->

choose the required MD type one by one and copy into a file

only in edit mode you will have in the first hidden row the technical names,

you just need to delete the description and the first hidden column and save as csv

log on to your target planning area, go to MANAGE --> MASS --> edit and paste the values, or

alternatively load the file you created from source system (which means you can easily re-use)

   b) Transactional data:

log on to the system here you want to copy FROM

Have a view there with your KF on their correct planning level,

display only one bucket = e.g. the current year so you are sure you really get all data,

re-format and save as csv file
and upload via WEBUI file upload.

Paste via Excel will not work as many of the KF are write-protected

2) KF have to be loaded by Base Planning Level, that means for each BPL one separate file. No need for HCI load, WEBUI is fine.

I tried to load in mass, works fine until some kind of maximum  number (50 KF at once worked fine for me, 100 failed)

3) sorry, have no such link, but thanks for the files on SAP4

Thanks Irmhild.  Anyone else have the SAP2 files?  How about copying the planning views across models?

Thanks,

Will

Hi William,

To copy templates or planning views across models, you can

1. Open the planning view and save it to your local drive.

2. Logofff and Login to the new Planning Area (sap SAP2X)

3. Open the saved planning view from your local drive, refresh and add as Template or Favorite.

The Target Planning Areas should have the same KFs, MDTs as source. ie SAP2X should be a copy of SAP2.

I will try to send you SAP2 files.

Thanks,

Raghav

Thank you!  This worked.  Is it possible to copy analytics and dashboards across planning areas?
