Approval Workflow - substitute approver

Dear all,

our customer required to have some multistep approval workflows with substitute approvers if the sales quote is not approved for 2 days (e.g. when one of the approver is on holidays, 2 days later an alternative approver will receive the approval request and carry on the process).

We set up the multistep approval workflow:

and we thought that by using the steps in parallel, we can accomplish the requirement. Nevertheless, while testing, we found out that each step requires at least one mandatory approver, even if they are parallel steps.

I think that this requirment could be quite common from a business process point of view, anyone has already met it?

Is there any solution within C4C configuration?

If user delegation has been setup, the approval task will additionally be send to the substitute user, when the quote is submitted for approval.

Via key user tool Workflow Rules you could send notifications based on Approval Status  "In Approval"  that gets send out after certain days to selected recipients.

Forwarding approval tasks to other users can be managed by the key user via work center Application and User Management with view Business Task Management.
