Portfolio Item Segregation

Hi Experts,

I am working with PPM 5.0. I have a doubt if is possible to do something in the application and I need your help. You know that we have "Item" as business object in application, so I would like about that.

The case that I have is following: in the system we can create different types of items (e.g: Production; Project, etc.) and as I am working with security team to this project, I would like to find the way (if it exist) for segregate the item types in different roles, so I mean, provide the ‘Project item type’ to only one users group and the ‘Production item type’ to other user group.

Is possible solve this situation in PPM? with Customization or it is OOTB?

Any help that you can provide me, it will be useful.

Hello German;

I recomend to you to see the OSS Note 1748331 - Enable filtering Item and Initiative Type.

Nav:  PFM  >  Global Customizing  >  Global Settings  >  Override Default Global Settings

Area =    0007 (General Default Values

Name =  Filter Item/Initiative Type Based on Portfolio Type (' ': No, 'X': Yes)

Value =  X

This Solve the Assignment of Portfolio Type with the Item Type.

Now if you want to segregate the view of Item Type by User Role (ussing all Role at the same Portfolio Type) you can put a validation for item types for a portfolio id using GET_ATTRIBUTES method of RPM_PROJ_CUST_FIELDS.
