Hi Gurus,

I have below questions on Context, Cluster and Directory Configuration...

1. We need to define Cluster, context and Directory Configuration before replicating master data, why?? How are these related to master data??

2. Who is responsible to define these three? CLM Consultant or Basis??

3. What is the importance of these three and where exactly these are used??

4. We do Directory Configuration for internal and external, what is the difference between internal directory configuration and external directory configuration??

Thanks in advance

Context, cluster and directories are the initial configurations for a new system. Without an enterprise context there is no place to upload / create master data it has to belong to a context. The cluster and directories are the configurations that define how end users login to the system. An internal directory is for "buyers" the external directory is for "suppliers".   These directories are for the the actual user store sourcing will only have user information. the actual credentials are stored external to the system in a user store (UME, LDAP etc)
