Data Masking for SAP HR

Hello Experts,<br>

We have a requirement where we need to "Mask" the master data of the employees for Sensitive information<br>

like IT0008, IT0002, IT0009 etc,This data would not be masked only in front end but also in the back-end (Database/Table Level)

So that anyone who tries to view the data through table level (SE16) will also see the "Masked" values.

Has anyone gone through a requirement like this, if so what should be the approach/ solution to fulfill this requirement.

and what kind of things or Impacts should 1 consider while doing this?

Hi Rajesh,

I only just saw your question when looking for some other topics on the same subject.

You can write your own ABAP program to alter the tables directly. Most HCM tables arent inter-related and would not pose difficuties for direct updates. However the programs would need extensive testing to make sure you aren't altering else which should remain unmaksed.

There is a company called Basis Technologies which offers a software bolt-on called Scramble GT and that does the masking at the db level - the original data is completely changed.
