Lumira Error

Hi,

I was facing "failed to create java virtual machine" in Lumira desktop.

I had fixed this problem by the thread 32Bit VI Java Virtual Machine error | SCN. which says to maintain the system variables.

Now, the issue is I cannot login to HANA from Lumira.

It throws an error "check the server name and instance ID"

I have added the IP and DNS to the host file as well.

Earlier to this i was able to login to HANA.

Does any body have a solution for this?

Thanks,

Sujith.

Hi,

what is the version (SP2x) you have installed?

what if you back out the change you made to sys-variables, does the HANA connection work again? (i would find this very strange - i don't think there's a relationship between the 2)

Hi Henry,

Im using version 1.25.1.

I have backed out the changes and checked it but no luck.

is there a way to resolve the "check the server name and instance ID" the error considering it has nothing to do with system variables.

Thanks,

Sujith.

I think your changes to the host and/or services file might be the culprit here

it also feels like a kind installation error .  why not uninstall this 25 version and install a new SP28, see if that resolves it ?

Hi Henry,

I reinstalled the 25 version. Now the Lumira runs fine but still Im getting the connectivity error.

I have added the entries in Host file as well.

I get the error "Check the Server and Instance ID"

Could you please help me on this.

I do not want to move to SP28.

Thanks,

Sujith.

Hi Sujith,

Can you install SAP HANA Studio in that machine and check if you can connect to HANA from it? Also check if you are connecting to single instance or multi-node.

Hi Sujith,

Have you installed the HANA Client on your system?

If not you may install and check it again.

Hi Sujith,

Then instead of adding them in host file, why don't you try to directly add the Server name (try giving the IP address rather than the name of server)  and instance number while you connect to HANA?

Hope this suggestion is useful and appropriate to your query!

HI Varsha,

I have tried using IP and Host name.

Both dint work. I get the same error.

Thanks,

Sujith.
