PSS - Email sent to NWBC user but not to Portal User

Former Member

Hello Experts,

Could anybody have a suggestion as to what might be missing here - I have done the configs for PSS -

Service set-up -

GRAC_UIBB_END_USERLOGIN

Systems checked for PSS

Data Source -

Authentication (HR)

Data Search system (CUA)

User Detail Search (HR) (we want the email sent to the user as per the email configured in HR system - Infotype 105)

When I do the tests via NWBC - the email is sent correctly with the link to the password, testing for the same user via the portal,

I get the email sent successfully message but do not receive any email with the link to the password.

Thanks for  your kind help,

Kind Regards,

Siobhan

NWBC for GRC doesn't use UWL. It uses POWL. Both are different. You need to configure POWL for email communications.

HI,

POWL has been configured - and I have figured out what was missing. Thanks for your help !

My next challenge is trying to have the email sent to the user - but using the credentials in the HR table PA0105 - has anybody done that before ?

Thanks again for your help,

Much appreciated, Kind Regards,

Siobhan

Hi Prasant,

Thanks so much for all your help - I have a doubt about the shared user you can perhaps clear up -
what is the correct user type for the shared user in the SICF services for PSS ? Is it to be system or communications.

Thanks again,

Kind Regards,

Siobhan

Hello Siobhan,

whether use NWBC or end user logon.

when ever you use PSS. email will be sent to user.

the mail will be sent  by WF-BATCH user.

please check if WF-BATCH user has email id maintained.

you can maintain any user id in SU01 for WF-batch user.

Hello,

I do not have the trace in SOST of the mail sent using the end user logon link.

I only have the mail sent when I use NWBC to request the reset.

I have noticed that the shared user in the service remains "active" in SM04 each time I use

the end user logon link.

Thanks,

K.R.

Thats fine users remain active for sometime.

in SOST email are not triggered when you send mail using enduser.

HI Siobhan,

2 things to check:

1) In SOST can you see the emails being generated to be sent out and if so were they sent out?

2) Are email addresses maintained in all data sources? i.e. ABAP systems (SU01) and Portal (UME)? It could well be that the user has no email address maintained in the Portal UME.

In addition, ensure the Portal field mapping is correctly set to the connector in the GRC settings for the Provisioning action.

Hello,

In SOST I can see the emails as having been sent - and yes email addresses are maintained in all data sources.

Thanks again,

Siobhan
