Upgrade issue - Get instance Properties

Hi Team,

We are performing upgrade on Dual stack Netweaver 7.0 system. We are using SUM version 1.0.13.5

OS is HP-UX and Oracle is 11.2.

When we are running SUM and on step where it asks <sid>adm password to check instance properties we are getting error -

SapSSLInit failed

I am not sure why SUM is executing sapcontrol command with HTTPS and giving SSL error, I have disabled all SSL parameters in profiles and also deleted SSL nodes from strustsso2.

Also checked OSS note 1401712 which has our system error but as our kernel is qualifying condition so think is not applicable for us.

Please suggest what you think could be reason of this error.

Have a look with SAP KBA   2189669 - SUM error in step INPUT-OS-USER-PASSWORDS-sapcontrol finished with exit code :SapSSLInit ...

Apart from what gaurav has mentioned do verify your sapstartsrv is running with your START_<instance> profile.

I checked sapstartsrv is running with Start profile.

Also checked OSS Note - 2189669 which suggests we should upgrade Host Agent and kernel but I am thinking Host Agent and Kernel will be upgraded as part of system upgrade.

Is there any possibility for SUM not to use SSL in sapcontrol to fetch system data and only HTTP protocol can be used to resolve this error.

Hello,

They did not suggest for you to upgrade the kernel (apply a kernel of higher release).

This will be part of the upgrade process.

The suggestion was to update the kernel (keep the kernel release, but apply a patch level higher than the one currently in use).

I recommend applying the latest kernel patch level, as Gaurav alredy did.
