Solman SP Stack Upgrade from SP3 to SP12

Hello,

Can anyone please let me know what basic details i need to check for SPS upgrade in Solution Manager 7.1 from SP3 to SP12?

do i need to download the CD from the Service Market place or i need to generate the stack.XML file from Mopz??

Also I want to know can i directly upgrade from SP3 to SP12 or do i need to first upgrade to SP8 and then to SP12??

You can download the SP12 CD from SMP and use it. it contains the stack file as well which will be used by SUM to update your solman SPS. Regards Munish

Hi Vishal,

Connect SOLMAN ABAP and JAVA to the SLD.

Sync this SLD with LMDB and SMSY.

Complete the modelling of solman system in LMDB/SMSY

Assign logical component to solution manager system and and put it into a solution.

Once done, then run LVSM and make the adjustment.

Then use MOPZ to select the solution and generate the stack for solman.

Hi Vishal,

You can directly upgrade to SP12 or SP13 as per your requirement by generating a stack file from Mopz in your current solman Sp03 system.

further use SUM(latest version) to upgrade both stacks together to sp12 or  sp13.

please check all roles / profiles for MOPZ as per below note

2147994 - MOPZ: Required Roles and Profiles for Maintenance Optimizer in Workcenter

maintain your user in AISUSER transaction and this should have all the relevant authorization on SMP.

You need to generate the stack file from MOPz.

Hello Vishal,

By generating the XML file from MOPZ you can go ahead with upgrade.. and you can go directly from SP3 to Sp12.

Hello KK,

thanks a lot for your response. Currently i am facing issue in Solman 7.1 Mopz as its not allowing to créate stack.XML file. i think i am missing some authorization. After going in solman_workcenter, when i click on Mopz i am getting no option to start to generate a new stack.XML.
