Assign KMAT as L position in BoM

Hi,

I need to assign a KMAT material as a L position in BoM of a KMAT parent but the system doesn't allow me.

I know it is possible because I've seen it in other systems.

Maybe the question should be:

¿What's the difference between assign the N item position or the L one?

The behaivour of a KMAT material as an N position in a BoM is the same than a ROH material as an L position.

So, if you have a KMAT material as a position of another KMAT parent, you can produce the KMAT position managing it as an L position.

Hi,

Please check in the transaction OS14, if for the Usage, header & BOM item material type combination, the allowed indicator is maintained as "+".

Hi,

Settings in the IMG for production (Master data -> BOM -> Item data -> Define item categories) determine that inventory management for this item category is to be based on quantity.
However, other settings in the IMG for material type KMAT in plant 1210 determine that the quantities are not updated in the material master. This means that you cannot enter this material with item category L.

You cannot control the relationship between KMAT and item category in that transaction.
