Marketing permissions and Communcation categories

Hello experts,

i know that marketing permission can be setted as opt-in or opt-out, but what about communication categories? Is something to be done manually or can be automated?

And also, if a contact has:

  • E-mail setted as Opt-In
  • All communication categories subscribed to yes except Newsletters subscribed to No

What will happen if I send an email marketing campaign newletter? Does the contact receive the newsletter or no?

Hi Gabriele,

I believe communication categories only relate to the email channel. 

If the email channel is set to opt in, but the communication category is set to opt out, and you execute an email campaign by mail for this communication category, then recipients that are opt out for this category will not receive the email.
