Dear Sabhapathy,

The icon which you have clicked is for master data which shows all the BOM components.

Click the result icon, which is left to the master data icon.

Also, you can click the planned order icon, before costing icon.

Dear Sabhapathy,

Have you maintained OD for all materials? If not then maintain OD for all because system will include all components during simulation which are without OD.

Dear Sabhapathy,

Is the dependency COLOR_RED assigned to all components ?

It should be assigned only to RED color.

Create similar dependency COLOR_BLUE & assign to the bom component for blue color.

Dear Senthil,

I have maintained all dependence for all BOM components.

Is this the below Source code  is same for all BOM components?, kindly confirm.

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '01'

Dear Sabhapathy,

If your characterisitic COLOR has below values,

01 - RED

02 - BLUE

03- BLACK.

1. Your first dependency : COLOUR_RED says if COLOR ='01'. Assign this only to the component 60000055, which brings RED Color & not to other components.

2. Create another dependency in CU01: COLOR_BLUE.

Sel. condition as COLOR='02'. Assign this only to the component 60000056 which brings blue      color.

Similarly create separate dependencies & assign to the respective components.

Based on your value selection in CU50, the right component will be displayed in the Results.

Sabhapathy,

Define Source codes as per your BOM sequence like

Red=0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '01'

Blue=0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '02' etc

Then assign same for BOM items respectively then test in CU50.

Sabhapathy,

It looks you took in a wrong direction.

For 3 different colors 3 different dependencies and for 3 engines 3 different dependencies you need to create.

For Red,Blue and Black colors define dependencies like below and remember to assign same dependency in BOM item details.

Red to Red item details and Blue to Blue item details same way for Black.

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '01'

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '02'

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '03'

For engines also 1200CC,1500CC and 1800CC 3 different dependencies.

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '01'

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '02'

0000010 $ROOT.COLOUR= '03'

assign above engine dependencies to same item only.

Further if you have any items follow same procedure.

sabhapathy r,

If I have been at your place then i would have done it like below.

  • Former Member  made life easy of the many beginners by writing an document and i would have refer that to setup a basic VC model in system using link

  • If i am not clear and stuck up at very basic like , how to write and how many dependencies , i would have created 1 KMAT,  a Super BOM with just 3 materials as component , used basic selection condition selection  with syntax like ( characteristic 1 = ' 1')  which will select component 1 from BOM.

  • If it would not be working , i would have created my post on SCN explaining my VC structure , screen shot showing what i did , and my expectations from the VC i setup. I certainly wouldn't expect people will create an VC model and send me screen shot of each and every step when i cant do the same for my own knowledge building.

  • I hope  or say i am sure with this approach i would have save lot of my as well as fellow community members time and would have been move ahead to setup my next VC version 0.2 to add more features like other dependencies , change quantity , etc.

  • And last but not the list i would have marked replies helpful if it have help me.

May be you can also try to follow this approach , hope it may help you.

Thanks

Ritesh

Sabhapathy,

What is the Dependency type is used? Did you check for syntax errors exists?

Can you show us the BOM component Dependency Assignments to Objects snap shot?

And one more thing when you click on results in CU50 the screen heading should be Configuration:Results your screen shows Configuration:Master data?
