Error on Backward Scheduling with KANBAN

Former Member

Hi All,

I tried the following thread as a reference to create a KANBAN

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-50854

I am able to move on till the T Code PK13N where I get 5 buckets on status 'wait'

When I try to save it to empty or full, I get the following error

Kindly help me on how to proceed further with reference to the above mentioned thread

P.S. My material is a FERT material, maintained in an already existing plant.

Hi Neelesh,

PPK1 is the production order type used in KANBAN. Please check scheduling parameters for PPK1 in OPU3 transaction for your plant. Is it set to backword scheduling ? If yes then change it to forward schedluing.

The whole purpose of KANBAN is to implement PULL system and hence it should be scheduled forward.

One more thing, when you have "Wait" status of bin, you can set it to "Empty" and not to "Full" direclty.

"When I try to save it to empty or full, I get the following error"

Please change the parameters in customizing and test again. Hope it works.

Regards,

Rohit

Hi Rohit,

Thanks for the reply. Tried changing to Forward Scheduling and now I get the error as "Enter Forward Scheduling Start Date"

Any reason why I get this? TIA.

Neelesh,

Check your order type scheduling parameters OPU3 and also check valid FC assigned to your plant with all activity values maintained in your Routing.

I found out the problem, attaching the screenshot

All the highlighted check boxes where checked by default. I just unchecked them all!

Now its working just fine! Thanks for your inputs

Thank you for updating Neelesh !

As per standard SAP production order type PPK1, you should have "Automatic Scheduling" selected. You can leave other options unchecked.

Auto. Sch. should not impact your scenario.
