Synchronous Call to ECC Using RFC

Hi Experts,

I have a synchronous call from portal to ECC using RFC, wherein the requirement is that by default the call should be going to D92 system but whenever, D92 is down, then as a backup, the RFC call should be going to D70 system. Is it possible to maintain this condition in PI and if yes, then could you please share the approach for this.

Hi Deepika,

Extended receiver can be used but note that extended receiver determination is possible only for asynchronous scenario, AFAIK.

Refer the following blog for the same in synchronous.

Alternatively,  UDF may also be used to determine receivers dynamically.

You can use "Enhanced Receiver Determination" ( Step by Step guide to Explain Enhanced Receiver Determination - Application Server Infrastructure - ...) and call the RFC "RFC_PING" function in mapping ( User-defined Mapping Function for RFC Lookup - Code Gallery - SCN Wiki )
