BO session on BW

Dear All,

  As we are using only one OLAP connection between BO and BW system for all the reports and dashboards. So whenever we are refreshing the report, in BW system Dialog user session creates because we are using only one communication user for OLAP connection. Due to this sometimes BW system hangs and causing lot of performance issue. Is there any solution to set the session in background in BW system. Please suggest your valuable inputs.

Hi,

it's normal that the BI4 query/request is handled as a Dialogue work process in BW-side (SM50) - most customers don't hardcode a single user for all their reports/connections.

.. but rather use SSO with an alias between BO Enterprise and SAP Authentication users/groups .

- that way they can control 'access permissions' by inheriting the SAP Roles to infoareas +  data security for BW objects, hierarchies and runtime restrictions (authentication variables etc)

I know only, that you can see the session on BW side with the transaction SM04.
