BPM difference between solman's and PO

Hello we are evaluating to deploy BPM (management, not monitoring), we have both solman and PO, now we see in documentation that BPM is intended to be used in both of them?

What's the difference? probably BPM in solman is directly monitoring, and BPM in PO has the connectors advantatge if we connect to external systems?

I am not sure about your question, can you share some more details

We can document all the business process in solman for entire landscape whether they are running in SAP systems or non SAP systems.

Similarly we can monitor them whether run on SAP or non SAP systems

Is this you would like to understand.
