Data extraction to IBP

Hi,

By Hana cloud integration, is it possible to extract data directly from ECC (or) APO to IBP Hana database.

In HCI, Is it possible to do a data conversion before loading to IBP ?

Do we need BI system in between ?

In what kind of scenario's we need BI System in between ?

Hi,

Its must to use HCI to get data into SAPIBP.

Guides provided by Alecsandra is good point to start.

Best Practice: Master Data is extracted from ECC or APO.

You should load MD from BI or FF only if its not available in ECC / APO.

HCI is the native tool as it provides end to end integration. Other tools like on-premise Data Services or any 3rd party ETL can be used but they need to go via files to IBP, they cannot be connected directly.

Yes, it is possible, you can grab directly to tables, and you can attach a BW- / APO-extractor that is on e.g. an infocube or planning area

You can do mapping as well

There is no technical need to have a BI system, it depends on what are your requirments
