How to create automatic HU Warehouse Task for Pick HU

Hi Gurus,

In my scenario I am creating Picking task and then I am using packing profile to create Pick HU at a different location.

I can create Pick HU as soon as Picking task is getting created.

Now I need a HU warehouse task to be created immediately for my Pick HU from its location(HU starting Bin) to the destination Bin of the Picking task created.

Is there is any standard way available in EWM for the Pick HU warehouse task creation.

Example :

Picking Task created -

Source  Bin                        --          Destination Bin

Picking_Task_Start_point01  ---> Packing Workcenter01

Picking_Task_Start_point02  ---> Packing Workcenter01

Pick HU Created -

PICKHU001  ---> Storage_Bin_01

Requirement :: -->

Automatic HU Warehouse task for Pick HU - > PICKHU001

Source  Bin                                                --          Destination Bin

Picking_Task_PICKHU001_Storage_Bin_01  ---> Packing Workcenter01

Once it is created , Pick HU warehouse task can be confirmed to the Packing Workcenter01 and then picking task can also be confirmed .

Please suggest if it can be achieved by customizing .

Thanks for the reply.

I am using MFS (Conveyor system) here.

Pick HU will be created on the conveyor and then it requires a HU WT so that HU can be moved on the conveyor to its destination, Packing station.

Hope it answers you query.Let me know if you have more questions , I will be more than happy to clarify things on it.

Still I do not understand. From where to where does your pick HU move? The bins you write in your first mail are not clear. You make it sound as if the pick HU moves independently from the pick task.

Hi Juergen ,

Process will follow these steps :

1. Picking task created from Bin 01 ---> WC 01

2. Same time Pick HU created at a different location on Conveyor at Bin  -->  CON01

3. Requirement :: HU WT should be created from CON01 --> WC 01

4. HU starts moving from CON01 --> WC 01

5. HU WT gets confirmed and HU arrives at WC01

6. Picking task gets confirmed and HU gets packed

Hi,

that means that the pick HU movement has no connection to your movement of the goods - how should it be a pick HU then?

So you won't get in any standard way a WT created for that. I would also think that you will get an issue to continue the movement of the HU to the next storage type, because the HU for sure has not process attached to it (see this discussion ).

why CON01 cannot be resource? Then you could follow standard pick-HU process.

Hi,

You might have a chance if you create an item for pick HU's as packaging material in that delivery. I agree with Juergen, you can't achieve this in standard.

For ex., when you release pick WT's, you can pick actual packaging materials from that bin(CON01) which is the same as your physical movements.
