port information for Explorer servers in CMC

Hello,

We are on BI 4.1 SP1 on Win2008 R2.

When we go to CMC - Servers - Server List - right click on any server and choose Metrics. It will display a screen and it displays a PORT information also for that service.

When I do the same steps for four Explorer related servers then it does not show the port information. The servers are as follows -

ExplorerExplorationServer

ExplorerIndexingServer

ExplorerMasterServer

ExplorerSearchServer

How/Where can I see the port number for these four servers.

Your help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

SS

Hi,

Wanted to add some more points.

Metrics-Request port of explorer services is not available in BI 4.1 SP1.

But we will get see request ports of BI Explorer services in BI 4.1 SP6 .

Metrics-Request port is added in BI 4.1 SP06.

Regards ,

Rukaiya

HI,

not very sure about metrics but you can see port number if you have assigned to server by right click->Properties.

IF port number is not assigned then servers pick the auto port.

That is the question.

How to see the dynamic port is is using currently. It is visible for other servers.

Thank you,

HI,

in this case also one way is to update the port number in properties and save.before restarting the server if you again check the server property you can see which auto port is using server.

It does not show for Explorer servers in CMC. You need to check in the server using PID of the server. netstat -an. it will list all the ports used by servers.

Yes I am aware of it but that is not what I am looking for.

There is no way to relate it to Particular server.

Thank you anyways.

Process Explorer will show you which ports are in use by any process.
