BR1304E Checking SAP license failed at location BrLicCheck-110

Former Member

Hello All,

We are having a server, where the only database is installed to connect ME. Backup is executing using brtools, from past few days. Backup is failing because of following reason

BR1304E Checking SAP license failed at location BrLicCheck-110

BR0602E No valid SAP license found - please contact SAP

Following action I had taken,

Upgraded brtools , now brtools is at version  BRBACKUP 7.20 (42)

Oracle release Release 11.2.0.4.0

Searched all the messages in community, can anyone had faced similar issue before.

Thanks

Thank you all for replies,

Solution is as below

"BR*Tools does not carry out the license check for small Oracle

databases. The following database size limits apply ("select

sum(bytes) from dba_data_files"):

BR*Tools 7.20 - 10 GB

BR*Tools 7.40 - 100 GB

As a result, the BR*Tools are executable for all small Oracle

databases after you implement it as described in the solution below.

If you want to use the BR*Tools in an external environment (no SAP

database and no database from the above list), SAP does not assume any

responsibility and will not provide any support."

The check shows that database is larger than 10GB.

Please use BR*Tools 7.40 to solve this issue.

This is the log file:  /oracle/C9X/sapbackup/berebhst.anf.

If there's much information, please try to increase brtools trace level to 8 by setting environment variable:

set BR_TRACE=8
execute brtools

Afterwards please attach the detailed trace file.

Best regards,

James

Hello James,

Thank you for note, even Josef had suggested relevant note 320457.

I had set the parameter in init<DBSID>.sap

_vsp_owner = SAPSR3

after that I had generated the trace, still it is same error

BR1304E Checking SAP license failed at location BrLicCheck-110

BR0602E No valid SAP license found - please contact SAP

Thanks

Are you sure the owner should be SAPSR3?

Usually SAPSR3 is SAP abap schema, since you are using ME, I am afraid, the schema should not be SAPSR3. Can you check the schema again? Can you let me know the output of below:

select username from dba_users;

How did you identify ME's schema?

Please note, the schema is database user who has database application tables.

From the username, maybe MESPROD is the right user? So _vsp_owner = MESPROD should be set in the brtools parameter file?

James

You might get some help, if you could provide a bit more information about your configuration.

I guess there is no SAP ABAP or SAP Java system attached?

In this case: Unfortunately brbackup is not meant for such systems, but SAP note 320457 may be useful.

... database is installed to connect ME.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is ME?

Middle East? Master Electrician? Medical Education?

Hello Josef,

Similar Instance (D9X)

Existing Instance where problem persists (C9X)

Thank you for the reply, I had already gone through the SAP note 320457. We have a similar instance (D9X) on the same server (rtuzwq234), where there is no additional component-specific parameter was mentioned in (D9X) so didn't add the component-specific parameter in init<DBSID>.sap of C9X.

In the similar instance (D9X), we have similar configuration connecting to ME, the backup is running without any issues.

SAP ME  (Manufacturing Execution).

Thanks

Obviously you are quite reluctant to provide details.

So let me guess once again:

It seems you got system C9X as a copy from system D9X. So it seems quite normal that you have to do some post copy tasks. Did you?

Sorry, my crystal ball is a bit dim today, so I can't tell you more. But as one last guess: Oracle OPS$ users?

But enough guesswork now!

Good luck!
