Hi Experts,
I am new to PS module.
Have issue related to Project AUC settlement to asset Classes
Scenario :
They have one Project AUC asset class as 'Technology'
Now they want to bifurcate this 'Technology' AUC asset class into two i) Hardware ii) Software
The Requirement :
Is it possible to identify project system all of the Hardware WBS elements should be settled to 'Hardware' asset class and rest of all should be settled to 'Software'.?
If Yes, please help on:
1. Configuration requirements?
2.Treatment to the line item already posted to old 'Technology' asset class.?
3.When should bifurcate this asset class begging of project, new period or new year.?
4.Dependencies?
5.Can I create asset classes through FI Asset accounting.?
Thanks in Advance
Best Regards
Abdul
Hi Abdul,
its better to create 2 WBS for each hardware and software within the project.
both WBS will generate separate AUC than your requirement will be solved.
Please let us know if your requirement is different.
thanks

Hi Abdul,
if you have posted to AUC (Technology) via settlement than their is no option as per process.
if business still want to post to 2 AUC's than you can reverse the settlement and separate the cost and create new WBS with investment profile assignment so New AUC will be created and then you can transfer the cost to these new WBS from old WBS.
than settle to new created AUC from old WBS.
thanks

Hi Sunil,
Seeking your help again.
To provide solutions to the business.
1.I will create to different Asset classes
a).Hardware AUC
b).Software AUC
2.Will create to different 'Investment Profile' and insert these asset classes in those.
3.After that I will maintain these to different investment profiles for to WBS elements within a Project.
Please tell whether if this will work out?
Thanks & Regards
Abdul
Hi Abdul,
yes you have to create Two asset class than create two investment profiles respectively.
than you can create 2 WBS with in same project and
WBS1-> Investment Profile 1 (with asset class 1)
WBS2-> investment profile 2 (with asset class 2)
this will work as per your business process.
thanks
Sunil
