Error on Report Creation

Hi,

I am getting a strange error message when I try to generate a Crystal Report from my application.

The error says:

"String index out of range: -1"

I am pretty sure that all of my configuration, connectiosn etc are properly set.

Can anyone please advise as to how I might go about troubleshooting this issue?

Can you provide some more information regarding the workflow to reproduce the error message to have some more clarity

Thanks guys.

We are using Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 sp2

The reports are being generated from the Clarity PPM application.

When the report parameters are entered and submitted it does look like the report is processing ok. The Crystal Report opens but then the erorr appears as above.

I should also add that when I check the report's history in the CMC it does indicate that the report has run successfully - but obviously the report isn't displaying properly.

Hi Colin,

So the Error is seen in Clarity PPM Application. Can you check the following

- Does the report run fine from BI launchpad and Crystal report client tool

- Are the crystal services (Can be checked under CMC>Servers) up and running?

Well I don't see the error in the Clarity Application - I run the report from there and a new browser then opens to display the Crystal Report. But then the error appears.

When you say, "BI launchpad and Crystal report client tool"

do you mean the Business Objects Central Management Console?

When I run the report from there it does complete and a "Success" status displays.

When I go to Servers I see the following Crystal services enabled and running:

CystalReportsCacheServer

CrystalReportsJobServer

CrystalReportsProcessingServer

What is the source of Crystal Report? Did you get the error hile creating report or refreshing the report?

Mention your versions# of BO or Crystal?
