As per related searches it is suggested to install Gateway Instance on DBHOST. But gateway need to connect automatically through RFC.

Kindly clear me in this case and provide a solution for this.

Hello,

The best / easiest solution is to install a standalone gateway at the DB host.

The alternative is to configure rsh or ssh in such a way that no password is required when the "<sid>adm" user executes commands from the SAP servers at the DB host using rsh/ssh.

Hi Maheswari,

Kindly check below one..

SAPXPG_DBDEST_<physical db host name>

Previous:  Activation Type-> start on explicit type

Correction: Activation Type-> start on application server

Previous:  Gateway host: <physical db host name>(as per sap note 980266,under 'solution' tab point 2)

Correction: Gateway host: <host name of productionserver>

SAPXPG_DBDEST_<virtual db host name>

Previous:  Activation Type-> start on explicit type

Correction: Activation Type-> start on application server

Previous:  Gateway host: <physical db host name> (as per sap note 980266,under 'solution' tab point 2)

Correction: Gateway host:  <host name of production server>

2.Update BRTOOLS

3.Change permission as per SAP NOTE 113747(point 4& 5)

Kind regard's

Hi Maheswari,

As per 446172 - SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE (program_start_error) in DB13

If SAPDBHOST does not correspond to any host name of SAP instances, the system assumes that no SAP instance is running on the database server.  The following steps are now executed:
      a) As of Release 4.5B, the system now checks whether an RFC destination SAPXPG_DBDEST_<SAPDBHOST> exists for which the gateway options are maintained according to Note 34219 (3). If this is the case, the system assumes that a standalone gateway is running on the database server and performs the following steps:
    • An RFC connection is set up from the source host via SAPXPG_DBDEST_<SAPDBHOST> to the standalone gateway on SAPDBHOST.
    • SAPXPG is called from there.
    • The external tool is started with SAPXPG.
      b) Otherwise, the target host is accessed remotely via the gateway of the source host.
    • A remote call to the target host is started using the command defined in the profile parameter gw/remsh (usually RSH).
    • SAPXPG is started via this mechanism.
    • The external tool is started with SAPXPG.

Take care of above points once and let us know is that helps.

Regards,
