Trigger validation when user select date from calendar

Hello experts, I have been reading about Date Navigator but I still not quite understand on how to use it.  Can someone explains to me how to achieve this scenario:

I have a context node  named  PARENT_NODE with a child node CHILD_NODE and a sub node under Child Node with 2 date fields

called  FROM_DATE  and TO_DATE with type datum.

When user select the date from the calendar, I want to validate to make sure that

-   the date selected must be Greater than today date

-  The From_Date must be less than To_Date

How can I automatically trigger the validation event without hit enter key?  I cannot guarantee user will click enter key.

I read about Date Navigator but I do not know how to create a calendar that only show start date from today and future.  I do not need color on calendar.  I did look at the example WDR_TEST_EVENTS  but still not understand on how to achieve my goal.

The link to automatically trigger ON ENTER Event does not work with date field.

I thought may be I can use the context change log to check for data change and do validation but the change log is always empty.

May be because the date fields are in the sub node?

Some  help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
