I need to update to the latest and greatest version available for Crystal Reports XI. We currently have 11.5.10.1263 installed. One of our clients also uses Crystal Reports and they have informed us that we are several versions behind. They currently have the 14.0.4 version installed. I would have assumed that since we just purchased Crystal Reports last month, that we would have received the latest version; was that not the case? I Found an update option in the Menu bar, but it requires our product to be registered. So I guess the first step is to register our 11.5 version and then update it to the latest. Can someone guide me in the right direction for this register/update process?

Hi Juan,
The current CR version you have is CR XI R2. You can only go as far as SP6 with this version (and it is out of support).
Follow this guide on how to:
The version your client has is the latest iteration of CR however, is still not the highest.
Your client is using CR 2011 (14.0.x) whereas the latest is CR 2013 (14.1.x) - there aren't any differences between the two, other than the rebranding and version number bump.
Also, you will not be able to upgrade to this new version by simply 'updating' CR XI R2 from the help menu. You'll need to buy this new version - it has a separate license key and can run alongside the old CR XI R2 software.

After doing some research, we realized that we did purchase the three generation old software by mistake. We were under the impression that the Crystal Reports XI was the latest version. Would it be possible to return this XI 11.x version so we can actually buy the correct one, 14.1.x?
We really have no need for the XI 11.x version since our client is already using 14.1.x.
