View TOAOM_C does not exist in the underlying Oracle db

Hello,

I have always thought that all SAP views corresponded to underlying database views.

But I have noticed that TOAOM_C is not created in the dbs of our systems although the view is active in SAP.

Could you please explain why SAP has not created the underlying db view for TOAOM_C?

In se11, I did not see an option concerning the corresponding db view creation.

Which criteria is used by SAP to determine if a view must be created in db?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi Benoit

not all views are in the database

That's a maintenance view that is not created in the db while if you select a database view you will be likely to display the database object from se11

FYI

Let me know if you need further details

In the case of TOAOM_C, it is a database view.

The thread that you have provided does not answer my questions.

As you said there are views created in the db and others not created.

Could you please explain why SAP has not created the underlying db view for TOAOM_C?

In se11, I did not see an option concerning the corresponding db view creation.

Hi

firstly: which release are you? in SAPKB70106 , SAPKB73104 and SAPKB74007 TOAOM_C is always a maintenance view. Would you mind to paste the screenshot of se11 for TOAOM_C and the version management of the obj?

Secondly: If in your system TOAOM_C is a database view then it should have been created in the db but i need more details to help you with this (after prev.points)

Last but not least: usually the criteria is taken not from create or not create the view in the db but what's the porpose of the view (and linked to it performances and space i guess...)

Hello,

My release is SAPKB70117.

I thought it was a database view because the thread you mentioned states the following:

Database View (SE11)

Maintenance View (SE54)

As I could access it with se11, I supposed that it was a database view.

I send you the screenshot of se11 as requested.

Regards.

Hello,

I would like to make sure that I understand.

Is it correct to say the following?

The only SAP views that are created in the underlying DBs are the ones named as database view in se11.
