Information on Transport Management Module

Hello TM Experts

I am SAP FI consultant with knowledge in MM and SD integration. I am working for FMCG.

I would like to know:

1. Basic of Transport Management module, features and functionality

2. What are transaction posting TCodes for this module

3. What are configuration involved

4. Integration points with MM and SD

Don't know what your current knowledge is, but because you call it a module and ask for transaction codes, I guess that you might not know that TM is not some module in ERP, but a software on its own (which mainly uses WebDynpro applications instead of GUI transactions). Guess it's best to read the book "Transportation Management with SAP TM", but reading SAP Application Help for TM SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) – SAP Help Portal Page can also serve as a starting point.

Hi,

Whatever i know am writing....

In TM module use for transport goods from shipper to consignee through carrier selection.

Logical System interface :- Before transaction start we have to connect two system ECC --> TM through RFC ( remote function call) / CIF (core inter face) this portion come in PI (process integration), so that data can be transfer from ECC to TM.

Functional part :- In configuration side in both logical system ECC and TM need some basic configuration as ...

1) In ECC :- maintain sales order type, vendor, customer, transportation root determination.... etc.

2) In TM:- Define carriers, transportation lane., transportation Zone.....etc.

After configuration basic flow is that we create sales order in ECC it transfer automatically in TM system because of our interface setup, In TM system 1 FO generate ( Freight order ) and OTR ( order base transport requirement), next step we have to select carrier as per root determination, out bound delivery create in ECC and then shipping process done.

TM system work in NWBC (net weaver business control) web base add on application.
