How to change language key description

Hi:

I have seen language key in material  master Z1 . But I not know how to change description .

Pls advaise.

Hi Mandy,

a language in a material master relates to the communication language in customer and vendor master.

if you have  languages EN and Z1 in your material master, then EN is used for eg, vendors with EN as communication language and Z1 is used for vendors with Z1 as communication language.

if both plants procure this material at the same vendor, then they communicate both with the language that is maintained in the vendor master. If EN is in the vendor master, then Z1 will not be pulled from material master.

There is no plant specific material description."

I mean the language key right now Z1 has a description as 'customer reserve'.

How to change description for this ?

goto SE63

select from menu Translation > Abap objects > short texts

you get a popup

open "table entries" and double click TABL

enter T002T as name of the object and define your source and target language and click edit button

on the next pop-up enter Z1 and execute

Now you are at the page where you can enter the translated name of your choice

Hi Mandy,

Jurgen is correct here as always...:-)

But when you go to Menu Transalation > ABAP objects> SHort Text....then a window will come up as "Object Type Selection"....then click on 00"Meta Objects"...there you can find TABL (Tables Meta)....then proceed as per Jurgen's comment.

this is probably a bit system or release dependent:
