Hi Experts,

Our system have a SAP Router running on a static IP of a ISP (Internet Service Provider) , about haft users (from branches) connect to SAP Servers via it, but sometime the internet connection was failed and we must wait many hours for the ISP fix it.

We planned to get another internet service from other ISP (with a new static IP) and install a new 2nd SAP Router for improve the internet bandwidth  and backup the SAP Router connection (users can change to 2nd SAP Router IP when internet connection of the first SAP Router failed and vice vesa).

Please help us :

     - Can we implement this solution (install a new 2nd SAP Router- with a new static IP from another ISP), if yes, could you please help me some direction for install a new 2nd SAP Router.

     - Are there another better solution ?

     - Can Our users run SAP via two SAP Router at the same time (Ex: 100 users connect via the first SAP Router, 80 other users connect via 2nd SAP Router same time) ?

     - Can we use the new SAP Router for the SAP check our system (ex: when we report the incident).

Thanks you very much for your read!

Best Regards,

Hien

Hello Hien,

In order to install the second saprouter, you can use the same procedure that was used to install the first one. No changes.

You can configure which saprouter will be used by SAP Support to connect to your systems at the SAP Marketplace.

About half of the users using the first saprouter and the other half using the second one, simultaneously, there would be no issues.

If one internet connection goes down, the affected users would have to logon again using a second entry at the SAP GUI, which would be pointing to the saprouter they were not using before (so they will connect through the other ISP).

Hello Isaías,

Thanks you very much for your direction!

Quote: "you can use the same procedure that was used to install the first one"

We can reinstall a 2nd SAPRouter Server as the first one, but we don't know how to register a new SAPRouter with SAP (One consultant help us did it and install all our SAP System, but he change his company and we cannot contact him now)

Could you please kindly help us some direction for this step: register a new SAPROUTER with SAP ?

Please help us another Questions: we planed to set the 2nd SAPROUTER run in the same port 3299 with the first one (our modem have 2 port, each port connect with other ISP and we do NAT 2 connection to same port 3299), is it possible ?

we are sorry because it is not belong to SAP.

Thanks in advance!

Hien

Hello Hien,

You're welcome!

I believe that the SAP notes 31515 and 35010 could guide you on how to add a new saprouter at the SAP Marketplace.

About using the same port, I do not see why it would not be possible. Of course this will depend on your modem, whether it allows creating two NAT rules with the same port, one for each external IP address.

Best regards,

Isaías
