Hi Expert,
I have following query related to SAP Afaria .
Query: Is it possible to push app-specific configuration to application downloaded from app store which supports configuration data?
If yes, please specify the steps that needs to be done in order to achieve this.
Thanks
Dear Pooja,
Yes, we have an option to push app-specific configuration to the app store apps which are installed through Afaria.
Always remember that if you do not push any application(app store/enterprise) through Afaria/MDM, the application will not be controlled through MDM.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. For Afaria on-premise,
Create an application policy for the AppStore app in Afaria Admin UI. Under Configuration settings -> you can add the Binary file or text file with the specific configuration. Save the app policy, link to the device and click on "Apply Policy". Now the app should be published to the device with the configuration pushed.
2.For Mobile Secure Portal,
Create an application in Manage Apps and release it to production. Now, login to Admin UI -> go to the automated application policy created by Mobile Secure portal for the app and add the app-specific Config to the Configuration tab. Link this policy to the device and click on "Apply Policy".

Hello Pooja,
if you already have AppStore Apps on the Device they can not be controlled (yet).
Only if you trigger the installation via Afaria and have then a AppStore Application Policy with configuration.
iOS9 will have the option to change such downloaded Apps to managed apps and this will give us the opportunity to configure them even they are not downloaded via Afaria first.
Kind Regards
Andreas Kuhn
