Assembly process

Former Member

Dear All,

Its been a while since I actually configured a complete MTO process...

I was just brushing up things and tried to generate a project from Sale order directly.

But I am unable to do so

I have maintained all standard settings I know

item categories, requirement class, MRP groups in Material master, requirement class and order type assignment,

SD MM settings are standard

material to std.network assigned

Project profile is not one root

Coding mask has minimum SO number range

But I am unable to generate the project

I know it is quite a vague explanation but if you guys can help me, it would be very much appreciated

I do have the config document of the last time I implemented MTO but the settings are same now

And I am wondering the reason

Can you let me know step by step what needs to be done

I can verify the same

I shall now mention what I have done step by step :

Master data:

WBS and network template

material assignement to network

material master MRP and sales view

Config:

SD order type remains standard

requirement class

strategy group to requirement class

item category group

item category assignment

strategy group 85 and MRP group PD

planning group 21

requirement types

Regards

Vittal

Hi Vittal,

Can you check the following:

1. Strategy group maintained for the material being used in SO.

2. In Requirement Class Settings it is Q

3. In Requirement Class check for assembly type . I think it should be 2.

Hi Sammar,

Yes that's maintained

But I wonder if its Q or D

I have earlier maintained as D

Hi Vittal,

Ideally both should work.. I believe Q makes it project Stock specific delivery.. you can check by altering..

Well there was a processing error in the Background due to insufficient storage space PXA

Honestly i didnt know what this was until our developer helped clear the problem

This usually Comes when the allocated space is less for runnning Transactions, this is what i got to know

But nevertheless Project is being created now with same data and same method.

Thanks for all your inputs

Hi Vittal,

regarding Assembly Process below are the settings required:

MM:

Material master should have Gen category group as NORM

MRP type-PD

Strategy Group-85

should be connected via CN08 (Material and std WBS & Std Network)

Standard Project should have SD/PS Assignment tick

Now requirement classes:

default 212 is used where Special stock is E and account assignment is D as defaults.

strategy group as 85 where main strategy should be 85

strategy groups should be assigned with requirement type and requirement class as KMPN and 212

also check plant and mrp group assignment with strategy if any.

then if you use material in sales order than a project structure will be created using standard wbs and networks.

thanks

Sunil

Hi Vittal VR,

After necessary configuration from SD,PP

Pre-requisites from PS for Assembly processing:
1) Standard WBS element(create it)

2) Standard Network(create it)
3) Activities/operations must be linked to Standard WBS elements(logical connectivity of Std n/w and WBS elements)

4) As total process is being triggered from SD we must maintain Sales views in Material master(Also,in MRP-1 view use MRP type-ND instead of PD)

5) We must allocate the material to Standard network using CN08 transaction

In OVZG transaction, check the req class and type

Create sales order using PS1 order type,
In the account assignment tab you will get WBS element automatically and upon saving notedown the project number

Best regards,

Sriramm
