BI LaunchPad User Preferences - Default to PDF mode

We have a requirement that for a certain user group we would need to set-up the default web intelligence mode to be in PDF mode. Is it possible to do this at the user group level rather user setting up his own preference? Has anyone face a similar situation?

Hi Prakash,

Use the following SAP note:

1659566 - How to Apply Preferences to All User Accounts in BI 4.0 

You can copy all preferences of a single user to a specified group using this script.

In this case, create a user (or use existing user) which has all expected preferences set (in your case default mode:pdf) and use this user to copy preferences from (instead of Administrator used in note) to required group.

Hi Prakash,

I don't think so that would be possible at group level, whatever option you see in the BI launchpad preference that you can set for a specific group, else you have to do at global level.

Hi Prakash,

you can do that by following steps-

• Login to the Central Management Console (CMC).
• Select 'Users & Groups'.
• Select 'Group List'.
• Under 'Group List' select the group whose BI Launchpad preferences you would
  like to configure.
• Right click on the group and select BI Launchpad
  preferences.
• Uncheck the No Preferences Defined box and set the
  appropriate preferences.
• Select Save & Close.

Thanks for your quick reply. We have already tried that option, however BI LaunchPad preferences does not provide all the options as we see in the "Preferences" in BI LaunchPad. Specifically, it does not provide option to control each application view mode.
