Special aggregation Last/First (Inventory scenario)

Hello!

There is no aggregation type like Last/ First to implement so called inventory scenario in Lumira (calculate correct stock balance for the beginning or  end of the period)

Let's say we have detailed stock data for each day and want to calculate on the fly balance at the end of each month

Is there any workarounds?

I am talking about acquisition mode, when measures are calculated by Lumira, not by HANA in online mode

Hi Alexey - it has been a long time since I've worked with Inventory - is your data source BW?  Could these calculations occur in the BEx query before Lumira "acquired" them?

In my current case it's now BW, but Sybase IQ.

Even with BW when we use acquisition on date level, aggregation should be calculated by Lumira. When BW online mode will be implemented - it will solve this problem for BW, but not for other sources.

Hi Alexey - I am not sure how to do this using Sybase IQ; for a BW Online "Lumira-like" experience I recommend using Design Studio - see - it is BW online.

I hope others will provide some suggestions.

My data source is Sybase IQ

If I will calculate stocks in IQ, then I will need to create separate (redundant) datasets for each aggregation level of date dimension (date, week, month, quarter, year) - not very good workaround from my point of view

And even in this case users can't for example drill from week to day level

it's not UX which users (and we) expect from the data discovery tool
