Hello people out there I am new to SAP IQ ?
Hope you guys will help me...
Hi,
As mentioned before, SAP PowerDesigner is the modeling tool, not just for IQ but for SAP HANA,
Oracle, SQL-Server and so on.... You can use PD to generate scripts for any RDBMS in the list
of supported products. Including incremental changes. Let's say you have a new version of your model.
You can easily generate a script containing the SQL required to implement just the changes you want.
You can also compare different versions of a model, generate reports, and so on....
About SAP Sybase IQ, after working with it for over 15 years, I can tell for sure that it's much, much
more than just loading data and using DBISQL. Sybase IQ is a very powerful product when it comes
to large scale analytics. Or Big Data, if you want. I mean, databases with hundreds of terabytes,
structured and non-structured data, thousands of users, and so on....
It should be used in conjunction with your BI tools, not just DBISQL, as an information store. Or in conjunction with HANA, as they can be integrated. For those running petabyte-scale BI solutions,
IQ native compression is a major benefit. Not to mention performance.
As a DBMS, IQ supports ODBC, OLEDB and JDBC. Which means you can use any tool you want,
either SAP or non-SAP.

Eduardo.
