Integrated Business Planning (IBP) in SAP Simple Finance

Hi All,

Lately our company are trying to discover the SAP Simple Finance module for project implementation. Noticed that there is a IBP component beside Financial Accounting and Cash Management.

As understood from the offering, IBP need BPC license and with it installed in a server. So far we have able to activate some of the IBP related component in our SAP Business Suite E.g. Cost Center Planning by Periods, Profit Center Planning by Periods and so forth.

As we have identified these planning capabilities does not require BPC installed and instantly can be consumed. Further to this are some of the Fiori Apps that comes with it.

My Questions:

1. Why BPC comes to the picture in IBP?

2. If we don't purchase the IBP license can we still use the above mentioned planning capability?

Great answer Santosh, You have pretty much covered it.

David about the license cost, it better to raise oss message with SAP or talk with SAP sales team on this.

There are many aspect to license cost, and no one can guide you except the SAP team.

Hi David,

Integrated Business Planning is part of Simple Finance which works on SAP Netweaver BW& BPC NW 10.1 "embedded. No separate licence required. It is included as part of SFIN2. Please refer to note "2081400 - Integrated Business Planning for Finance: Compilation of Information" for more details.

You can use below functions using IBP:

• Cost Center Planning
• §Internal Order Planning
• §Project Planning
• §Profit Center Planning
• §P&L Planning
• §Market Segment Planning
• §Balance Sheet Planning

Further, you can transfer values from IBP and ECC on realtime.

Hi,

the statement "No separate licence required" is not correct (allthough I have heared, that existing BPC licenses can be applied) .
