I want to know whether SAP has its own database?

If it has what is its name?

what do you call "a db of its own"?

-> sapdb/maxdb could be the one

ADABAS was renamed SAPDB when SAP bought it.. .then it was renamed to MAXDB.

now, it looks like MySQL owns Maxdb but SAP still has links to it:
