SAP PI and Tibco for middleware

Hello all,

We are doing a greenfield implementation and we need to communicate with third party applications. We are debating on the integration application. We already have Tibco in our landscape and we are trying to decide if PI/PO would still be necessary or we could just use Tibco for all the integration purposes and avoid the redundancy. What do you recommend?

Option A


ECC -> PI ->TIBCO -> Third Party system.

Option B

ECC -> TIBCO -> Third Party system.


The main questions we have is, what functionalities would we loose if we eliminate PI? Can Tibco handle SAP to SAP communications too? What are the disadvantages of having PI or not having PI in this scenario?

Hi Veera,

Tibco has end to end solutions for integrating systems including SAP. If 1st time your customer was going to introduce Middleware I would recommended SAP PI but its already present.
