hello,

I tried to enroll my Android device to Afaria. It throws the error

Exception:Transport exception :failed to connect to /ip(port 81)after 30000ms

Port 80 and 81 opened in firewall and  device will  hit the afaria server directly.(no relay server)

Should any other ports be opened in  firewall

Thanks

Karthik

Hello Karthik,

From the error message it seems that somehow the firewall is closing the connection after a certain time?

Do you have maybe the local windows firewall on the Afaria server running?

Is this the only message that you see in the Afaria client?

What Android devices with what Android OS Version and what Afaria client version do you have?

Have you checked that all Afaria services are running?

Can you browse on the device with the web browser to the help website of the Afaria Enrollmentserver with the below address?

http://<IPAfariaServerAddress>/aips/aipService.svc/help

Dear Karthik,

If the enrollment of Android devices fails, please check the connectivity to your Afaria enrollment server. In the internet browser on your device please enter the URL of the enrollment server help site to see, if the Afaria enrollment server is reachable.

The URL of the enrollment server help site is:

http://enrollmentserveraddress:port/aips/aipService.svc/help

Please use the IP address or DNS name of your Afaria enrollment server instead of 'enrollmentserveraddress'. Instead of 'port' enter the HTTP port you are using for the enrollment.
If the access fails, the enrollment will also fail. The cause could be that the port you are using for enrollment (e.g. 81) is not bound to HTTP in the IIS settings on the enrollment server.

Kind regards

Volker Saier
