How to Default Engineering Record Type?

Dear Support

I would like to default Engineering Record Type value. When users are in create engineering record page I don't want to show users options to select more case types but just the defaulted one. Does anyone know how to achieve that from IMG activity?

Hi,

I guess a default value is impossible.

But you can set the Engineering Record Types which you don't want to use to obsolete.

You can customize the obsolete flags in SPRO: Logistic - General > Case Management > Define Case Types > Define Case Types.

As you can see CRED & CREP is missing.

Hi Yatan,

You can surely set the unwanted Record Types are Obsolete, however in practical scenarios you will have multiple Change Record types anyway. Hence I would suggest to have a small implicit enhancement written to default a Change Record.

My intent was to have this control via IMG acitivity & avoide enhancement. But seems like other than obsoleting (for scenario with only one case type) there is no better option.

When there are more than one case types; then your advice will help & end up with enhancement.
