Creation of custom controls

Would be great that someone here can help me out. I am currently creating a custom control which uses both a textarea and a listbox (includes as aggregations). What happen is that I would like to take in the properties / aggregations - items which then I could use it to populate the aggregate listbox. How can I go about doing it?
