component IW_GIL in Gateway

Hello All,

Kindly help me in knowing what is the use of the component IW_GIL  in terms of SAP Gateway Components.

Why this is being used and how i can check weather this component is installed in my sap system or not?

Hi Vikas,

this component provides a generic OData adapter for content based on Generic Interaction Layer i.e. GenIL. You can find more details on Integration of SAP NetWeaver Gateway and GenIL - SAP NetWeaver Gateway - SAP Library

To check the component in your system: go to navigation menu in SAP GUI > go to system > go to status > click on the icon with a magnifying glass 'Component Information'. This will provide you a list of components installed on your SAP system.

Thanks for the information on this.So basically what i understood  is we can use the genil object as out entity and work on it like as a DDIC Structure?
