Hi,
We have a scenario where we have multiple CRM clients in our development XI server and each business system has a client suffix in the naming convention. However when we try to move into production XI environment we need to just have Bus_CRM. This would create a problem with the configuration scenarios transport because each directory object in dev XI has a reference to Bus_CRM_DEV_<client#>.
Is it viable solution to create 2 business systems for DEV_XI and PRD_XI, both integration servers and create 2 groups (DEV and PRD) in the XI production environment? Similar to the set up of the SLD in the dev environment. Would this help in the transport of the integration directory objects into the Production environment under the new Bus_CRM (production) business system.

Hi,
For the transport to happen correctly, the DEV and PRD will need to have identical SLD. Either they can share the same SLD or one SLD will have to be copied identical to the other.
In the SLD, there will be 2 groups, DEV and PRD, each based on the perspective XI server. The business systems will be assigned to the different groups automatically, depending on which XI server is assigned to the business systems.
In the transport configuration just assign the target for each of the DEV business systems.
During export and import of the Integeration Directory, the configurations will be changed automatically from the DEV business system to the PRD business system based on the transport configuration in the SLD.

Bill
