Hi Experts,
We have a client who use BI on AIX and DB2
Below are the file systems which are getting full like almost 98 % , how to reduce the size of this data files ,
is there any house keeping jobs/ activity which reduces size , as our client dont want to increase at the moment rather they have suggested
that there would be an option in BW Administration to reduce the size which will reduce the amount of data .
May i please request you to suggest bw house keeping activity to reduce size/ amount of data .
below are the details of our datafiles
bwpprd01:bwpadm 1> df -g | |
/dev/bwpdb2data1 |
|
/dev/bwpdb2data2 |

Hi Shafeeq
1. Have to define the retention policy to clear the PSA & change log in you BI system?
2. Refer the SAP notes and SCN link house keeping tasks
Housekeeping Tasks in BW - SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse - SCN Wiki
1829728 - BW Housekeeping Task List
2191519 - BW Data loading - Important house keeping tasks

Hello Shafeeq,
Databse reorg will definitely get you more space. Try for a reorg . May be you can do a system copy for the production environment and do a test re-org using SWPM with Advanced compression option . Based on the results , you can propose and convince the customer.
If you need more inputs and help on this, I am happy to guide.
Kind Regards,
Sowmya

Hello Shafeeq,
Database re-org for a production system can be done in the weekends usually It is based on customer approval.
As a first point, you can try adding some more space, and make sure BW housekeeping jobs are properly completed as Sriram pointed out.
In addition , you can plan for a Re-org later , if you have storage constraints/ and other factors.
Thanks,
Sowmya
Think of adding space and going for a reor.
