Hostname change in SMQR/SMQS

Hi,

After system refresh, the hostname is not getting changed in SMQR/SMQS even though following the step edit>change AS group in the respective transaction code.

What could be the reason and how to make the hostname get reflected in them.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

The hostnames at SMQR/SMQS are set automatically (taken from the system itself).

How was the system refresh performed? Did you simply make a database backup and restored it?

Did you follow any SAP guide to perform the refresh?

I know that for some SAP releases you cannot restore a database backup, and in either case an SAP tool has to be used to perform some activities.

What do you see at the transaction SM51? The new or old hostnames?

What about the name of the profiles files?

Do you see entries with the old hostnames at the database table RFCDES ("RFCOPTIONS" field)?

I can see the correct hostname in SM51 and profile.

I had deleted the source system profile in RZ10

Only for SMQR & SMQS , unable to change.

Thanks in advance

They should be automatically updated once queues are created / processed.

There is no way to manually change hostnames at SMQS/SMQR.

This is most likely a side effect of your (probably incorrect) system refresh procedure.

Daniel,

As Isaias said, this doesn't update until the scheduler for the registered queue runs. You can 'force' this change from SMQS/SMQR by selecting Edit... Activate Scheduler. You should see your Host ID update immediately.

Cheers,

Matt

Just re-register them.

intro to SMQS -> Registration Table -> reorganize -> Delete All entries (Yes)

Now Hostname is refresh.

This procedure will delete all registrations seen at SMQS!

already sent the steps...

You can 'force' this change from SMQS/SMQR by selecting Edit... Activate Scheduler. You should see your Host ID update immediately.

So...

  1. Access the transaction SMQS;
  2. Access the menu Edit -> Activate scheduler;
  3. Perform step 2 from SMQR.

However, since Matt sent the correct answer, I believe it would be nice if you could change my answer to "helpful" and assign the correct answer to his.
