sap software Update Manager can not start up

hi

i want to upgrade SAP_BASIS From SP04 TO SP09 using SUM.

I have downloaded and extracted SUM in usr/sap/<sid>,When I try to start SUM by execute startup.bat i see this error:

SUM info: V1.0, SP10

That means - Right-click on the file and do a Run as Admin*

Make sure you are running SUM tool with SIDadm.

HI,

Login to server as <sid>adm user.
Go to Start -> Command Prompt -> Right Click and use run as administrator.
Now cd <SUM directory>
-> Try running STARTUP.BAT

Hi Toshi, Run the startup.bat file with sidadm user, also please verify and give authorization to sidadm as local administrator.  Please revert if its not working.  Regards, Jaskirat Singh

SIDADM & SAPServiceSID user id's as part of local administrator group?

No Authorization for SUM Folder ,Please run with SIDADM user

Give full authorization for SUM Folder  while doing the Upgrade
