Hi Team,
There is a requirement in project to read data from .csv files.
We have 2 Servers
PROD Server 1 - Server where Business User places .csv files
PROD Server 2 - Server Where BODS Server is installed
also tried
Business user places .csv file in PROD Server 1. I have to read data from this csv file.
Business is not allowing to install MS Office in PROD Server 1 & 2.
Please help me in below 2 issues
1. How to read .csv files without MS Office
2. How to read file in another Server. - I have shared folder where files are placed, I am able to open that folder from PROD Server - 2.
When I give the same in file format, BODS throws error as "Check Path and Per missions".
I also tried by Map Drive in PROD Server -2 .
Appreciate your help.
Thank You
Cheers,

You do not need MS Office to read a csv file. MS simply hijacked the csv extension as being associated with Excel. You can open / read with Notepad!
Go read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values
A csv file is simply a delimited file to Data Services.
As for your file share issue, that is a question for your systems admin.

You can read it in notepad as well, you don't need MS-Office.
